Mother of 6 commits suicide
Tragedy struck yesterday at Umuawalagu Nara community in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu state when a mother of six, Mrs Angelina Ezenta, committed suicide.
Blueprint gathered that Ezenta, 45, who hailed from Odume in Aninri local government area of Enugu state, and married to one Thomas Ezenta, allegedly hanged herself on a tree.
Speaking to our correspondent, the husband of the deceased said he had been looking for his wife who had been having some mental problems.
“My wife left home to an unknown destination, before I came back from farm on Friday. However, a search part was immediately organised by my family and others concerned until Sunday evening when report got to me that she has committed suicide,” he said.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident and said the police have commenced investigations into the matter.
He said the remains of the woman have been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary Agbani for autopsy.
