Al-Mustapha’s mother dies at 67

The mother of the former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, Hajiya Fatimah Mustapha Nguru, has died in Kano.

She died in a private hospital yesterday afternoon and was buried around 4:40pm according to Islamic rites.

Hajiya Fatimah, who died at the age of 67, is survived by 10 children, among which is the former Chief Security Officer to Abacha and another Kano businessman, Alhaji Hadi Al-Mustapha. She died exactly five years after the demise of her husband.

Among those at the funeral was a prominent Kano Islamic scholar, Sheik Tijjani Bala Kalarawi, and Senator Muhammad Bello who represented Kano central from 2007 to 2011.

Family sources told Blueprint that the late Fatimah has been ill   over the continued detention of her son. Her illness was said to have taken a turn for the worse when she was denied permission to see her son after the court sentenced him to death.

  The matriarch of the Al-Mustapha family was said to have been worried over the attitude of some of Major Al-Mustapha’s associates who could not mediate with prison authorities for her to see her son.

She was buried at the Koki cemetery after the funeral prayer at her residence at Lamido Crescent, Nasarawa GRA in Kano metropolis

It will be recalled that since the incarceration of Al-Mustapha, about 13 years ago, he has been denied access to both his parents whom, according to sources, died of high blood pressure.

The mission of these tyrants was fulfiled.now that hamza’s mother has died due to governmental denial to have access to her beloved son.if the whole family of hamza and he himself may die at once his ferns will definately survive and they will demand for justice.will he be allowed to come for his mother’s condolence or he is to die for high blood pressure just as his dear mother?may her soul rest in perfect peace.hamza the legend.
