STF urges Muslims to pray for peace

Ayoola

The joint military Special Task Force (STF) Commander in charge of Operation Safe Haven in Plateau state, Major- General Henry Ayoola, has called on Muslims to pray for peace in the country.

Ayoola was speaking at the Jos Central Mosque during a Ramadan solidarity visit he paid to the Chief Imam of Jos in which he presented some food items to the Muslim community.

“The fasting period is a very apt time to pray to God, so that we can achieve peace. I call on all Muslims to use the sacred period and pray for the betterment of Plateau state,” he said.

According to him, the STF is part and parcel of the Nigerian community at large, believing that any prayer to God for the good of the land is for the benefit of all. He sued that the gesture is the STF’s way of assisting Muslim brothers during the Ramadan period.

Ayoola said the military operations embarked upon in some villages have been concluded in four out of the five villages.

“It’s, only one place, that is Mahanga, that we are still working on, and the people have not returned yet,” he said.

On his part, the Chief Imam of Jos, Sheikh Zakariyya Balarabe Dawud, said true Muslims always obey law and order.

“We appreciate that you have always discharged your duties without bias,” he said.

Dawud commended the commander and also prayed Allah to guide him while in the cause of his duties. He also prayed for peace on the Plateau and the nation at large.
