Falana, Jacobs, 23 others for SAN awards

The legal practitioners’ privileges committee (LPPC) has approved the appointment of 25 legal practitioners for the award of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) after a successful screening exercise.

While briefing journalists yesterday in Abuja, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr. Sunday Olurundahunsi, announced the names of the 25 candidates who would be sworn in at a later date when the court resumes from its annual vacation.

Top on the list of the successful candidates is human rights lawyer, Chief Femi Falana, Professor Yemi Akinseye George and Professor James Clement Dakas.

Others are Joy Okungbowa Adesina (Mrs), Chief(Mrs.) Connie- Jean Aremu, Mahmud Abubakar Magaji, Ogwu James Onoja, Garuba Usman Tetengi, Henry Oghogho Ogbodu, Selekeowei Larry, Abenny O. Mohammed, Charles Nwanne Obishai, Luke Chukwudi Illogu, Francais Chuka Abgu, Paul c Ananaba, Akinlaja Dayo Moses.

Others who also made the list are Ahmed Raji, Adekunle Theophilus Oyensanya, Rotimi Oluseyi Oguneso, Oluseye Samuel Opansanya and Aduroja Claudius Olumuyiwa.
