1 killed, 10 injured as explosion rocks Bauchi
There was a bomb explosion last night in Bauchi which killed one person and left no fewer than 10 injured. The explosion occurred at about 6:20pm at Bayan Gari area of the metropolis.
The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Ladan, confirmed the incident to Blueprint on telephone. He also confirmed that one person was killed and no fewer than 10 injured in the incident.
He also revealed that the injured were being treated at an undisclosed hospital, while investigation into the incident has commenced.
As at the time of filing this report, details of the attack were still sketchy, just as a source said that the bomber, who was seen pushing a wheel barrow, sneaked away, leaving his barrow behind.
“Few minutes later, the bomb exploded,” a source said.
At the Abubakar Tafawa Teaching Hospital, about 10 shops were damaged. This is the second time such an explosion would occur in two months in Bayan Gari, an area noted for its many brothels and hotels.
