Niger govt to train 12 indigenes as pilots

The Niger state government is set to sponsor 12 indigenes of the state to be trained as pilots at the Nigeria School of Aviation, Kaduna.

Our correspondent learnt that the government and the aviation school authorities had commenced discussions on the modalities and admission processes towards training the students from the state.

It was also learnt that the management of the aviation school visited Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu last Thursday in his office to formalise the sponsorship agreements so that the lucky students could commence training without delay.

It was also learnt that the process of selecting the potential pilots has started based on certain criteria including science based qualifications.

Age and state of health of candidates were other criteria being used for the selection of the students, while those that were hypertensive were ruled out of the admission list.
